Schedule changes at the shop!

There are lots of things changing with the season — we’ve got some big things happening here at the shop, too!  Most importantly, we want you all to know that our shop hours will be different after Labor Day — September 1st, 2014.  If you’ve been in the shop, you’ve seen the new hours posted on the door and you’ve heard about our exciting changes with classes this fall.  So, here’s the scoop!

KFTH NEW SCHEDULE

The good news? The shop will be open during evening and Sunday classes — so watch the class schedule as well! Stop by and get your needles ready for one of our fabulous fall projects — there’s always something new at Knit’n from the Heart!

Back to school here at the Heart, too!

There is a buzz that happens this time of year when kids begin preparation for back to school. Or should I say — parents begin the preparation for back to school! School supplies, new clothes and shoes, text books, class schedules, hair cuts and anxiety over locker combinations send the Minnesota masses into a flurry. The staff here at the Knit’n from the Heart have been busily preparing as well, but we have to admit — our fall class schedule is all gain and (little to) no pain!

We are excited to announce the launch of a brand new series here at Knit’n from the Heart! The New Knitter’s Series begins this September, and it’s one for the books! Read below for more information, and watch the website for registration details.

Happy fall knitting everyone!

Beginning in September of 2014, Knit’n from the Heart will offer a class for all new knitters! The series will be 5 weeks long and address skills needed to complete a first project. This series is appropriate for absolutely novice knitters through those needing a refresher of skills formerly taught in Knitting 101 and 102. You will additionally learn the application of skills used to complete one of the projects listed here:
Knitting Pure and Simple #251 Easy Lace Poncho
Ann Norling #42 Stitch Sampler Scarf
Knitting Pure and Simple #223 Basic Hat & Mitten Set for Women
Fiber Trends AC-20 Easy Hats and Mittens
These projects have been chosen for simplicity and skill building. We will help you select a project that interests you, matches your skill level, and help you from beginning to end! During this 5 week class, we will help you focus on exactly what you need to know to complete your project — all the while learning from and enjoying the company of other students in the class!
If you need to learn to knit in the round or on double pointed needles, we will help you find a project just for that.
If you would like to learn to cable, seed, or add other fun stitches to your toolbox — then the sampler scarf pattern is for you!
If you never thought you could make a garment that will fit — come make a poncho!
If you have basic skills, need a refresher, or just plain old forgot — you are welcome in this class! Young, old, righties and lefties are all loved and welcome here at the Heart. Register today and get involved in the most stress reducing craft around!

As always, yarn for this class is 15% off!
Completion of this series earns you an Advanced Beginner Level and the ability to enroll in other classes offered here at Knit’n from the Heart.

Have you noticed the winds of change?

This week — we were amazed by the beautiful super moon and its glow! There were a lot of conversations of the moon and the cooler (ahem!) temperatures we’ve all been feeling in these lingering August evenings. Conversations have turned to back to school prep, fall harvests, cool weather recipes, and here in the shop — our conversations are turning to wool fibers and sweaters and hats! Last week our summer yarn sale made room for some amazing fall and winter fibers — and I couldn’t resist featuring some of the fabulous hat kits that have hit our shelves! You can’t miss them as you walk in the door!

These hat kits are reasonably priced and a super fast knit! Best of all — the patterns are free with purchase! I’m thinking it’s time to start looking at that Christmas list — the wide range of colors will please a number of people on my list! How about yours?

Happy Knitting!
